A charity performance of My Gay Best Friend, an award-winning play which she co-wrote with fellow performer Nigel Fairs, will be held at The Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells.
My Gay Best Friend starts in a ladies’ loo in Eastbourne. Rachel is furious because her gay best friend Gavin hasn’t turned up to support her in her stage debut; he’s too busy in Hurstpierpoint trying to become a father with a lesbian couple and a turkey baster!
After winning an Argus Angel when it premiered in the Brighton Festival, My Gay Best Friend is travelling the country in a pre-London tour.
‘The joy of seeing a fine actress at the top of her abilities entertaining everyone with original, thought provoking material made this evening truly memorable. Some of the audience had come simply to pay homage to Leela, of Doctor Who fame. They were all blown away by her mature talent.”
This event is in aid of Compaid, a leading charity providing services to disabled people.
