Apart from an attack of the lurgy that most people seemed to have suffered, I hit the ground running. Christmas and New Year now safely behind us, I always feel a little that the festive season has to be tenderly and tactfully negotiated.
This year I have already filmed a movie, CROSSING OVER, playing a ball-breaking agent, and next week I am going to be a nun in DOCTORS. Nothing if not versatile!
My big news is that as from today stories with songs, for children aged 4-9, will be available to download exclusively from this website at a mere £1.99… they are ideal for pre-bedtime, or to aid a boring car journey. I’d love for you to help launch the LITTLE ACORNS SERIES with this first venture, entitled BEWARE THE GOBLIN MEN. The idea is to add a story regularly through the year. I’ve written and read the first one, with music by my good friend John Telfer (otherwise known as the vicar in THE ARCHERS).
In other news my writing partner, Nigel Fairs, and I have nearly finished the first draft of a new play called DRIVING ME ROUND THE BEND which we are finding hilarious… let’s hope you do too.
Two more writing commissions from Big Finish (Omega Factor and The Survivors) means I’ll be able to sit in my lovely study and go a bit crazy living inside my head.
There are other bits and bobs hovering around, but as and when they are firmed up I’ll mention them here, on the website.
For Doctor Who fans due to the fantastic feed back from last November’s convention Matt Evenden and I will be recreating that in Brighton and holding a smaller event this summer as well. Just dotting ‘i’s and crossing ‘t’s ready to launch it properly, but put a light pencil in your diaries for Sunday November 22nd …
That’s it for now lovely people. Thank you so much for checking in. I hope 2015 will be the year when free speech flows. Art, in every form, must be a safe place to debate dangerous issues.
With love, Louise
